No, Council does not permit 18th or 21st birthdays.
The following venues require security:

Note: Council reserves the right to impose security guards for any bookings the venues team deem necessary. These fees will be charged to the hirer (as outlined in Council’s Fees and Charges)
Hirers are able to book from 7am until 11pm Monday- Friday. Due to the high-demand on the weekend (Saturdays & Sundays), bookings are only available for either a day (7am–4pm) or evening (4pm–11pm) booking. This allows the venue to be used by multiple members of the community.

You will be required to create a profile and register as a customer before making a booking, instructions on how to do this are located on our Bookable how-to guide.
All venues are unstaffed and the hire generally only includes the venue and tables and chairs.

Jumping Castles are permitted at the following venues and the supplier must have a current public liability insurance (minimum $20 million).
Pets and animals (including petting zoos) are not permitted, except for guide dogs or assistance animals.
Candles, fireworks and smoke machines are not permitted. Incidents causing the smoke alarm to be activated will incur a fire brigade callout fee as per Councils Fees and charges
Candles on birthday cakes are permitted under direct supervision of the hirer.
Reduced hire fees are available for Non-For Profit groups or charities, and are listed on the venue fact sheets as ‘Category 2’ charges. In order for this reduced fee to apply, evidence must be supplied such as;

Payment for your booking is via:
At the first possible opportunity, the Venues team will inspect the venue for any damage or issues. The team will then contact the hirer via email to confirm bond release or partial/full retainment. This is generally the Tuesday following your booking.
If paid via credit card, the bond will be returned to the credit card used to make payment. This can take 1-2 business days once processed by the venues team.
If paid via BPAY, it may take up to 5-10 business days once processed by the Venues team.
The Venues team will contact you via email to advise when the keys/swipe card is ready for collection. This is generally the Tuesday prior to your booking.
No, access to the venue is only permitted as per the dates and times listed in the booking confirmation. Access to the venue outside of the hours booked may result in the forfeiture of the bond and/or additional charges.
This depends on venue availability and all time is chargeable. Council does not recommend keeping high value items in the venue overnight.

Yes. Please note, not all venues have kitchen facilities available. For further information on venue inclusions, please refer to the relevant Venue Fact sheet for more information.
Food trucks are only permitted at specific venues in designated areas.
Refer to the terms and conditions for the relevant venue to check if food trucks are permissible for the venue you are interested in.
Hirers are not permitted to plug in their own appliances. If an exemption is required, the hirer must submit a written request to venues@canadabay.nsw.gov.au, including evidence of tagging and testing records.
Yes, Alcohol can be served in venues in accordance with Responsible Service of Alcohol laws. A Safe Party Registration must be completed with NSW Police, and a copy of the registration must be supplied to the venues team prior to the booking.
