Celebrating Canada Bay’s creatives

Community & events | 26 April 2022

The City of Canada Bay is showcasing the creative talents of our local community in the first ever Canada Bay Makers event series.

The series will be hosted by City of Canada Bay Libraries throughout the month of May.

At the City of Canada Bay we are always looking for ways to support our local arts community. During Canada Bay Makers month we are inviting residents to get crafty and meet local artists and makers at a range of events we have planned including embroidery and 3D printing workshops, kids’ art class, and local maker showcases at both The Learning Space Rhodes and Five Dock Library.

This event series will come to a close on Wednesday, 25 May with an artist talk featuring celebrated interdisciplinary artists Si Yi Shen and Chris Caines at The Learning Space. Both artists have created works especially for exhibition at The Digital Gallery and will be getting together to discuss the creative and technical processes behind their works.

Events include:

If you’re a local creative looking for a space to work or inspiration, we’ll be running an induction session to our Makerspace on Monday, 2 May. The space offers access to 3D printers and laptops with specialist software for 3D modelling and visual design, soldering irons, hand tools, electronics, a die-cutter and a sewing machine for self-directed use.
