The City of Canada Bay is inviting the community to celebrate the end of summer at the first-ever Festive Formosa Street Party, a vibrant neighborhood event set to transform Formosa Street and the connected Shared Space in Drummoyne.
The free community celebration will take place on Saturday, 7 March from 2–9pm, offering a day of festive fun, food and entertainment for all ages.
Proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with the City of Canada Bay, the event is part of Plug & Play Canada Bay, a program designed to activate local spaces and bring people together.
Visitors can enjoy live music and art, workshops and street games, great food, and a pop-up bar, with something on offer for the whole family.
Mayor Michael Megna said the event is an exciting opportunity to reimagine Formosa Street and explore how the space can be used in new ways.
“This is the first time Formosa Street has been closed for an event, and it’s a fantastic chance for our community to experience this space differently,” Mayor Megna said.
“The Permit/Plug/Play Pilot Program is all about enabling event-ready streets to support community events and local activity. This street party is a great example of that vision in action, and I encourage everyone to come along and be part of something new in Drummoyne.”
To help reduce traffic and minimise on-street parking impacts, residents are encouraged to walk, cycle, carpool or catch public transport where possible.
The Festive Formosa Street Party is delivered in collaboration with The Oxford Hotel, Drummoyne Art & Craft Cooperative, Drummoyne Chamber, and The Agency.
