At Ferragosto this year, we are actively working towards delivering a safe, accessible and sustainable event in a number of areas.
Ferragosto began in 1998 as an initiative of Five Dock’s Main Street Committee. The event was originally held in the Garfield Street car park for the first few years but as it grew, it moved to Great North Road. To improve the accessibility of the event, we’ve introduced a drop-off zone on Garfield Street to help visitors with limited mobility reach the festival more easily.
With road closures in place on the day, we encourage everyone to plan ahead – or make the most of the day by cycling or walking to the Ferragosto.
