Join City of Canada Bay Libraries online for a reading of the classic Dickens' tale A Christmas Carol, read by Geoff Usher.
A member of the NSW Dickens Society, a former teacher, professional actor and Unitarian minister, Geoff served as Minister of Upper Chapel, Sheffield, England from 1991-2010. In 1993, to mark the 150th anniversary of its publication, he gave his first public reading of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It became a much-acclaimed annual part of Sheffield’s Christmas celebrations until he retired in 2010 and returned to Australia.
The City of Canada Bay photography competition is an annual competition in which all local residents are invited to participate. The theme for this year's competition was Capture Canada Bay, and entries were open from 5 July until 8 August, 2021.
As Sydney was plunged into lockdown over the winter, City of Canada Bay residents captured their immediate surroundings through the camera lens. These photographs highlight that beauty can be found everywhere, even in the most trying of times.
