Check if you qualify for a residential or visitor parking permit
To be eligible for a residential or visitor parking permit, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Live in a permit parking zone (check the permit map zone)
Your property must have limited or no off-street parking (e.g., garage, carport)
Your vehicle must be registered to your residential address.
Vehicle type must be eligible
Private-use cars
Motorhomes or vans (under 4.5 tonnes)
Motorbikes
Trailers
Trucks
Buses
Caravans
Commercial vehicles over 4.5 tonnes
Some exceptions may apply. The following vehicle types may be eligible under special conditions:
Company Vehicles
You may apply if you can provide a signed letter from your employer stating:
You have full-time use of the vehicle
The vehicle is kept at your residential address
Interstate Vehicles
You may apply for a temporary 6-month permit if your vehicle is registered in another state. Additional proof of residency and identity will be required.
The number of permits you can apply for depends on:
Your property type
The number of vehicles registered to your address
The amount of off-street parking available (e.g., garage or driveway)
