Now in her 90s, Janet is still painting today. After living, painting and exhibiting in Italy and many Middle Eastern countries, Janet finally returned to Sydney in 2008.

For more than a century Long Bay Gaol has been home to Australia’s most notorious criminals.

Patrick Kennedy grew up next door to Long Bay Gaol and both his parents were nurses at the correctional facility.

He uses this personal connection to create a book that is a unique blend of storytelling and history, weaving true crime with painstaking research.
